Wayne Rooney followed a string of footballers in recent months to have got their name in the papers for all the wrong reasons. Despite England's success against Bulgaria on Friday in their opening Euro 2012 qualifier, Rooney's personal life hogged the headlines once again. But the Manchester United ace has pledged his commitment to England boss Fabio Capello, who is believed to have considered
leaving the Striker at home for this evenings game in Switzerland.
Rooney allegedly confronted Capello during the flight to Switzerland to assure him that he is mentally prepared to do the job on the pitch this evening.
Capello will certainly be hoping that Rooney lives up to his promise of keeping his private and professional lives separate. The game in Switzerland is already being billed as England's toughest fixture of the qualifying period.
