Well that was a torrid last ten - but justice was done in the end. When you are top of the league every game is a hard one and Wasps ran us closer than anybody else. But, at the end of the day, we won and are now four points clear and Mike Tindall has signed a new contract. All is well.
Delving Deep!To be honest it wasn't the most free flowing game you'll ever see but the noise in the Shed was as loud as anyone can remember. The gale force support helped Lamby to four first half conversions which should have take the wind out of Wasps's sails - specially when Haskell and Palmer were yellow carded.
And what about the much vaunted Cipriani. He didn't like the pressure in the first half when his kicking was definitely off. He did a bit better second half.
It would have been nice to get a try, and no doubt our enemies will point to the fact that all of our points came from pens, but you have to mount the pressure to get them . That's why they are there!
In fact, it was only when Lamby was sin-binned [goodness knows why] that Wasps picked their game up and to their credit gave us a big fright. Buckland drove over from a line-out after a pen into the corner, and then when Lamby came back on he allowed Waldouck to cross. The conversion made it 18-17 and we have to admit we looked rattled. But that made the win all the more enjoyable! Mr Dayglo left with nothing but warm applause. Fairwell brave warrior.
