Trinder's tries help trounce sad Sarries

On the day England put Australia to the sword, Gloucester provided the perfect curtain-raiser for those of a cherry and white persuasion by handing out the same punishment to Saracens in  a bonus point LV= Cup win at Kingsholm.  The 36-10 scoreline reflects not only Gloucester's clear superiority, but also how poor Sarries were in a one-sided game which was over as a contest at half-time.

Gloucester needed the win after their poor show in defeat at Newport a week earlier, and with the returning Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu electrifying in the centre, their attacking play tore Sarries apart.
But the losers were their own worst enemies at times and even when Glaws had two players sin-binned, Luke Narraway and Nick Wood, they stayed on top.
Neither team was at full-strength, of course, but the game suggested Glaws have a lot more in depth than Sarries do. Their pace in the backs was just too much for the visitors.
No wonder Bryan Redpath refused to be carried away. He told the BBC: "Saracens had a rough day so I'm not going to get carried away, but I'm delighted with the way the players conducted themselves today.
"I'm delighted with the way the players have responded to having a little bit of time off. We know how important this month is for us."
Charlie Sharples, James Simpson-Daniel and Henry Trinder scored the first-half tries that gave Glaws a 24-3 cushion at the break, and second-half tries by Trinder ande Olivier Azam rammed home their superiority.
Sarries did narrow the gap while Glaws were short-handed, James Short touching down, but the result was never in doubt.
As Redpath says, this is an important month for Glaws. Having got their LV= campaign on track, they have two Premiership games to go - at Newcastle Falcons next Sunday, when they MUST improve their away record, and at home to Saracens the following Saturday evening, when the visitors surely won’t be as docile as they were in this game.
If they can win both those games, they can truly say their season is looking good as we go into mid-winter’s heavy pitches.
