Sevens is rightly taking its place on the World Stage and it was great to be a part of it. Brumbies beat Auckland in the final while we got to the quarter finals  losing 33-17 to New York in the plate final. That's right "New York v Glaws" whoever would have thought  ...

In the end our regular 15-a-side players ran out of steasm against Sevens specialists. We'd topped Pool A on Saturday which meant we were pitched straight back in on Sunday.

 We'd already beaten New York 26-24 on Saturday but they had the legs and scored four tries before we had got out of the traps.

Quarter-finals:
Buenos Aires 31-12 New York
Brumbies 22-17 VVA Saracens Moscow Region
Gloucester 7-19 Harlequins
Auckland 40-12 San Francisco

Semi-finals:
Buenos Aires 7-26 Brumbies

Shield Final:
Bulls 12-19 Kuban Krasnodar

Plate Final:

We can hold our heads up. Now that 7s is in the Olympics and attracting big sponsors I can see the 15 man game losing some of the speedier players to 7s full time.
That would be a great shame as we need the quickies to break the strong defences we have these days.
