Top Ten Target

Ryan Walkinshaw has set his stall out for Gloucester to be in the top ten in European rugby in the next three to four years ..
In an excellent Question and Answer session with the Citizen he says winning the Premiership is his number one goal and with that will come the opportunity to cement the club as one of the European elite.
This summer's spending certainly backs up that aim with all of the squad now honing their fitness at Hartpury... with one notable exception.
Laurie Fisher is still gainfully employed down under where he is chasing silverware and gaining the accolade of being the best coach in Australia. Ryan Walkinshaw's ambition may be realised quciker than he is hoping for.

Agreed. Some good questions and some even better answers. Good to read that the club is on the right lines financially as well.

RW comes across as a very steady bloke. With the investment of this summer some owners would be demanding assistant success for next season but rugby teams aren't just about individual brilliance and it takes time to get a team system and ethos going.

He's obviously smarting after last season. I'm not quite sure how you quantify being in the ten best clubs in Europe - aggregate Premiership finish and European cup finish?

With that squad and coaching talent we should be in the top ten rankings by the end of this coming season surely?

The AV has to be the priority and top 4 very realistic if the team gels

A reassuring prediction from Barff. Anything other than suggesting we will be relegated must constitute as a worried look over their shoulders given our summer strengthening.
Olli what's the "AV" - a cross between the LV Cup and the Aviva Premiership?
