Strange Resignation

Just when everything appeared to be going swimmingly at Kingsholm a major boardroom rift has appeared with the resignation of director Huw Evans...

Evans is widely experienced having been Scarlets chairman for 14 years. He is citing major differences in rugby policy decisions as his reason to quit including not seeing eye to eye with  Ryan Walkinshaw.

He also believed it was wrong to sack Nigel Davies and not agree a new job for Mike Tindall.

"Unfortunately I had fundamental differences of opinion on the rugby vision and culture held at board level which means I cannot continue, " he says.

However, his case is not being made at the best possible time. Last season was a disaster and under the new regime the season has got off to a fantatsic start with the retention of the Premiership Sevens trophy during which Evans admitted "was a joy to behold."

Very odd to my mind as things seem to be going so well.
If he wanted to support Nigel Davies the he should have resigned when Nigel went - not now.

Best get the dirty washing cleaned before the season starts I say. Big egos involved in sport and these things happen all the time.

He man was sacked and I think this explains why HRH was kept in the dark for so long, best he moves on and so do we.
