New Vintage Glaws

A vintage bit of forward play was, strangely enough, a fitting way to say goodbye to an emotional James Simpson-Daniel who will have enjoyed the comeback 34 -27 victory over Sale as mcuh as anyone ..

It's a long time since we saw our pack mully the opposition in the way that forced a penalty try and it bodes well for the rest of the season. Call it industrial or agricultural or whatever you want but it was effective and highly enjoyable.

It came after Sharks capitalized on some early mistakes to score a couple of early tries to go 17-3 up and we were fearing the worst.

But the second half was a totally diifferent matter with Jonny May starring as the pack went forward and  Messrs Laidlaw and Hook came into their own.

Laidlaw landed two penalties and then  May's try brought us level. The entertaining and talented  Danny Cipriani kicked Sale back in front and then scored an individual try but  Rob Cook went ove rand thencame that penalty try to secure tye win.

Now we must build on that forward performance to get the best out of our back division.
