When the fixtures came out the Christmas home games against Barff and Wasps looked exceedingly excitng. Oh how wrong could we be ...

Instead of bringing festive cheer to a packed Kingsholm Santa's litttle helpers could only provide two defeats.

The loss to Bath was hard to take because of the intense local rivalry - but surely we could overcome a Coventry Wasps side which hasn't exactly distinguished itself on the road?

Nope. Not even a try in the first 30 seconds from Johnny May could set us up for a win. Wasps worked their way back into the game, and our lack of forward power was once again our undoing as the visitoirs went "home" to the Ricoh with a 30-23 win. 

The crowd grew increasingly restless as we slipped to 9th in the table. And it really doesn't get any easier until we play Lonodn Welsh at the back end of the month.

Before that we have the Chiefs away in the New Year followed by Sarries at home and Tigers away.

To say we need at least one win out of those three games is stating the obvious.
