Will the LV=Cup survive the Rugby World Cup? There must be some doubt but it would be a great shame for up and coming players if this sometimes feisty competition is lost forever ..
The cup will not be competed for next season because of the RWC and many think this will be its death knell.
Our chances of winning the tophy, and subsequently holding it for eternity, now hinge on this week's home game with Quins who will be coming to Kingsholm knowing they are all but out of the competiotion. We need a bonus point win to stand any chance of going on to the knock-out stages.
Our chances of progressing were done a power of good by the stars of the future, including our youngest ever pro who was pulled out of school to train during the week. Ollie Thorley duly scored a try as we overcame Ospreys.
A penalty try and contributions from skipper Aled Thomas and Dan Thomas sealed the bonus point win.

How about an FA Cup sstuyle competition involving leading Scottish, Welsh and English Premiership and Championship clubs.
Trouble with rugby is that you dont get so many giant killings but of the competition was held at the time of the 6 Nations the that would be a leveller (at least foro the Championship clubs.)
I used to enjoy the national knockout cup which did throw up some very interesting games at times specially if a smaller team was at home against the likes of Glaws or Quins.
