The 34-22 victory featured a brace of tries from Henry Purdy and came in a storming second half after a 10-10 stalemate at half time.

The other tries came from Billy Twelvetress, Steve McColl and Rob Cook with Greg Laidlaw on target with three cons and a pen.

New England coach Eddie Jones was at Sixways and cannot fail to have been impressed by the second half performance. It makes next week's return leg a bit of a formality.
