Blown Away
Sharples Try

You wonder how teams can start a game badly. There's the interminable team run, the boom box in the dressing room and the team huddle before the kick off. All designed to get an adrenaline inspired start to the game ..
Well it doesn't always work for Gloucs - specially when you choose to play into the elements.
Facing the rain and the gale was bad enough, but gifting the second top side three tries iun the opening 20 minutes was tantamount to a death wish.
The first try came when James Hook's kick was chazrged down by Julian Salvi and Thomas Waldrom picked up to go over. Then from the restart Cook took a tricky pass from Ben Morgan and messed up his kick. From the line-out Waldron got his second.
Worsse was to come when Purdy allowed a ball to bounce and the resulktin mess saw Olly Woodburn to score in the corner.
We did come back in the second half when the conditions were in our favour, but only had a Charlier Sharples try to celebrate. and never looked like hauling Chiefs back.
The scoreline of 19-10 looks close in hindsight - what mkght it have veen if we'd chosen to play with the wind in the first half?
