Close Call

Once again Glaws came up short as Wasps ran in two late scores to produce a 35-22 which in no way reflected the closeness of the game ..
It was a match not withiut controversy or incident with Wasps replacement Josh Bassett having a try chalked off by the TMO who ruled that he had failed to ground the ball, and then we had Matt Scott driven over only for the TMO to rule that out as well.
The scores that did count came when we were tarailing by only three points with five minutes on the clock. Wasps opted to kick to the corner and Gopperth forced his way over, and then with the final move Christian Wade rubbed salt in the wound by going in at the corner.
Gopperth finished with a hat-trick as both sides traded score as the game unwound. Billy Twelvetrees had the kicking duties and he kicked one pen and converted James Hook's 20th minute try in the first half .David Halaifonua crossed just after the break with Matt Scott adding out third on 70 minutes as we more than competed - if only we could do it for 80 minutes.
