Up And Running
Marshall Try

After a disjointed and protracted pre-season we needed something to kick start our league campaign and it came in the dying seconds at Sale Sharks.
We'd fought back from a 10-0 deficit at the break only for Sharks to be awarded a last ditch penalty with the score sitting at 18-16 in our favour.
Our luck was in as Rob du Preez's effort hit the side of a post allowing Joe Simpson to gather, clear and end the contest. Phew.
Billy Twelvetrees had missed a chance to put us four points ahead a minute or so earlier. So it was all nailbiting stuff, and somehwat unexpected after Sharks went into that lead courtesy of a close range effort from Byron McGuigan with du Preez converting and then adding a penalty.
The same kicker then put his side 13-0 before we got our act together.
Mark Atkinson got on the end of a neat kick through from Danny Cipriani who then sent in Tom Marshall to make it 13-12.
Billy put us in front with a couple of pens and them we had the dramatic finale.
A win on the road in the first league game is not to be sniffed at. Wasps at home this week.
