It's strongly hinted that the wave of belt tightening which is sweeping across all sport at the moment is the reason  for David Humphreys following Johan Ackermann out of the Kingsholm door. If that's the case who is the cheapest, or should at be cost-effective successor(s)

Rory Teague fits the bill in many respects and as an incumbent will certainly command less than some of the exotic names being linked.

The Welsh duo of Dai Young (out of Wasps for a few months now ) and backs coach supremo Rob Howley are being widely touted and promoting themselves for a job which looks like being 90 per cent coaching with probably no expensive Director of Rugby role.

Richard Cockerill is also being mentioned but by all accounts he was Humphreys' chosen successor to Ackermann. 

Put your money on Rory. We'll know in about a month's time.
