Epic Win

A second consecutive win was all we needed. To do it with 14 men for almopst an hour of the game and with a late penalty was icing on the cake as we took the 20-19 win which took us off the bottom.

The first half laid the foundation with tries from from Santiago Socino and Chris Harris despite  Ollie Thorley's red card on the half hour.

It was a "fashionable" dismissal - nothing wrong with the aim of reducing head injuries but this head on head between Thorley and full back Miller looked very harsh. Miller took a high ball and both players were upright as Thorley came in for the tackle and they banged heads. A rugby collision in the old days.

It looked like our goose may have been cooked but our new found confidence saw the remaining 14 buckle down.

Smarting after going in 17-0 down to 14 meant Wasps did rally with tries from James Gaskell and Miller.

They went ahead through Josh Bassett's try but cue Billy who stroked over a 40 metre penalty to give us our just desserts.

A rerlaxed George Skivington told the Media: "We've had a few practice runs with 14 men, unfortunately, so to actually fall on the right side of it is great.It's not something we want to continue doing.

" I think we're giving people opportunities to come at us a little bit, but you can't fault our character. 

"We all want the game to get safer and there are measures in place now where, if your head touches someone else's head it's a red card, so, within the context of the law, it's fine.

"But it is tough because there are a lot of lads who haven't had a card in their lives who are suffering on these split-second decisions."
