Quins' defeat at home by Sale leaves Gloucester in third place in the Prem just two points behind second place Sarries.
Sadly, we were one try short of a bonus point in the 24-7 win over a much improved Irish.
Ruan Ackermann was in top form scoring the only try of the first half courtesy of being superbly aware as he picked up, put down, picked up and scored after a driving maul.
It was tight at 7-0 at the break before Ollie Thorley went over only for Irish to score through Olly Cracknell.
Adam Hastings gave us some relief with a penalty before Ruan sealed things with his second - leading to George Skivington telling the media:"We knew we'd have to work hard because London Irish are an in-form team. I thought we were really well matched teams.
"We knew it would be very small margins and generally speaking if you work really hard and you stick together you'll probably get those.
"I thought that first 20 minutes, our defence was outstanding and I thought that probably set the tone for the game because London Irish have scored a lot of tries this year and to hold them to one throughout the game was outstanding. To take that barrage of pressure early on was big."
Off to Exeter this week. Let's keep it going.
