Gloucester are back in fourth place after getting back to winning ways with a 34-19 defeat of Saints. Not so much luck in the Premiership Cup where Exeter had the better of an entertaining 12-try game running out 50-33 winners at Sandy Park.

The Saints game ended a run of three league defeats for Gloucs with Jack Singleton getting the first try after an opening salvo from Saints who came back through Tommy Freeman, who crossed twice, only for Chris Harris to reply for the Cherry and Whites courtesy of a Santiago Carreras offload.

The fly half then nipped through a gap to give his side a 9-point advantage at half-time.

Great defence kept Saints at bay after the break  and when Lewis Ludlum was yellow-carded Gloucs took advantage from the penalty click to the corner with Fraser Balmain touching down.

Carreras added a penalty before James Ram closed the gap for Saints only for Carreras to add a final penalty.

THE CUP game was an entertaining affair with Billy Twelvetrees a late addition yo the squad after sitting out the Saints game on the bench.

The Cherry and White tries came from  Ben Meehan and  Seb Blake in the first half followd by three in the second half from  Jake Morris, Alex Morgan, and Jack Reeves.
