Gloucester are in the last eight in Pool A after a 26-17 win in Bordeaux. George McGuiagn earned his Cherry and White spurs with  two  tries as his side clinched the final qualifying place.

It wasn't easy against a home side who had nothing to play for but pride - so much so that they went into an early 10-0 lead

Gloucs came back with McGuigan going over from a line-out. Bordeaux-Begles then lost skipper  Mahamadou Diaby and Ugo Boniface to the sin-bin.

Gloucs huffed and puiffd agaist the 13 but finally got their reward when Albert Tuisue powered his way over from a scrum.

The home were stung and came back through Boniface from close range, but their indisicpline continued with Matthew Jalibert the next to see yellow. George Barton promptly slotted three pens to regain the lead and the game was clinched when McGuigan again used his strength to go over - again from close range.

An away game awaits in the knockout phase but at least Gloucs are still in the reckoning.
