Gloucs and Saints shared six tries but it was the home team which moved four points clear in the top four battle at Franklin's Gardens.

It was 10-10 at half time but Sainst got the second half kicks to take anentertaining game 41-34. Five points to Saints and two to the Cherry and Whites.

Seb Blake's unconverted tries ot Gloucs were matched by a James Grayson penalty and an Alex Waller try in the first 40.

It was tries galore in the second half - Callum Braley for Saints and Ollie Thorley both scored then Saints were streaking away as Alex Moon, Sam Graham, Tommy Freeman and Fraser Dingwell all crossed.

Gloucs rallied with Jamal Ford-Robinson and Matias Alemanno getting the bonus points. One more would haveb earned a draw but George Skivington admitted his side were not good enough on the day: "I thought our bench was outstanding. They really injected something into the game and that's why we came away with a couple of points at the end because they brought some real good energy and accuracy.

"I think for the rest of the game we didn't really have that to be honest. We made some breaks and bits and pieces but we weren't accurate enough."
