Christmas Cracker

The 29-31 defeat was not what a packed Kingsholm wanted but there were plenty to cheer in a Cherry and White performance which was bolstered by the Christmas Eve signing of fly-half Charlie Atkinson from Tigers.

Gloucs were made to pay for a sleepy start, a spell in the middle where no less than five penalty kicks were turned down and a last minute long range penalty from Adam Hastings which could  have won the game.

That poor start saw Saints go into 17-0 lead up thanks to tries from Alex Mitchell, Alex Coles and Curtis Langdon. When  Gloucs woke up they pulled one back from Freddie Clark only for Langdon yo get an early try bonus point for Saints before Chris Harris powered hisway over to make it 14-24 at the break.

The second half belonged to Gooucester as first Matias Alemanno then Santi Carreras scored to give their side the lead 

However, home hopes were dashed when Tom Litchfield wnet over in the 65th minute with Fin Smith getting thie vital wnning two points.

Try as they might Gloucs couldnt get the score they  needed with that nail-biting effort from out wide just failing.
