A very poor frst 20 minutes at Kingsholm cost Gloucs dear as Exeter raced into a 17-0 lead which proved insurmountable as they took the game 38-17.
There were fears that the Cherry and Whites would have more than one eye on this Saturday's Challenge Cup semi-finall against Benetton (Kingsholm 3.00) and let's hope that was the excuse for this result. We will soon find out.
The early scores came from Jacques Vermeulen, Dan John and Olly Woodburn with Jonny May and Jack Clement responding to make it 10-24 at the break.
Discipline was better in the second half but all Gloucs had to show for it was a try from Arthur Clark. Chiefs got the bonus point they neeed to stay in the play-off race when Immanuel Feyi-Waboso crossed.
