Gloucester began 2025 in style with a 35-20 win over a Sale side which more than played its part in an entertaining afternoon.
The Cherry and Whites scored five tries despite being down to 14 men for 20 minutes and despite being very much on the wrong side of the penalty count.
We were back to the free-flowing Gloucester wonderfully typified by the opening try in the first few minutes.
Santi Carreras began it to send Josh Hathaway up the wing. Tomos Williams took the ball on and his pass back to the man who strated it all led to a great start to the game.
Gloucs led 22-10 at the break. Max Llewellyn continuing his try scoring with a sharp finish before Hathaway scored in the corner (above) after slick passing from a home line-out.
After oranges Llewellyn got his second and with Sale always in the game it was a chip and touchdown from Williams which put the game beyond doubt.
Gloucester up to fourth.
