It’s very simple. Seeking that top four finish, Gloucs need a last day five pointer against a weary Saints while either Sale or Bristol fail to win.
The 38-19 defeat by Quins three weeks ago was the hammer blow which meant that a top four finish was now out of George Skivington’s hands. Now he needs 7th placed Quins to show those same skills and determination at Bristol.
That might be the best bet as an in form Sale travel to second bottom Exeter.
It’s been a topsy -turvy season for the Cherry and Whites - can the final day provide some topsy?
Ruan Ackermann will certainly be hoping things go the Gloucester ways otherwise it will be his final game after 170 appearances in eight years . A dedication which saw him stay at Kingsholm when his dad left his head coach role way back in 2020.
Wherever he plies his trade next season we wish him all the best.
Of course, he wont be the only player looking to extend his Gloucester career into the play-offs. Santi Carreras, Christian Wade, Chris Harris and Gareth Anscombe will all move on at the end of the season..
They wil be in a side which shows two changes from the last game at Newcastle Falcons - Afo Fasogbon and Jack Clement will be in the pack.
