The Route to the Quarter Final at Somerset!
Debut Boy
By Grockle
May 16 2009
Young Max Waller makes his one day debut against Kent at Canterbury as Somerset book their home quarter final in the FPT. Omari Banks gets the lurgy and Kent get rolled over giving us 11 points out of a possible 12 with one to play tomorrow at Lords.
v Kent FPT @ Canterbury Saturday 16 May 2009
An excellent 45 run win with good perfromances with the bat from de Bruyn, Langer and Banger followed by good ball work from Trego and Thomas.
v Middlesex FPT @ Lord's Sunday 17 May 2009
An on/off win working to a rain affected D/L total chasing a BIG Phil Hughes generated score of 341. Excellent cool work from the same three batsmen saw us home with 11 balls remaing and although there was a complaint about mis-reading of the Power Play rules under a D/L affected game the result stands and we have a home draw in the QF's with a game to go. Peter Trego in the wickets againg with another 4.
v Scotland FPT @ Edinburgh Wednesday 20 May 2009
A workmanlike win on a more difficult wicket where we struggled to just over 200 with only Arul and Craig passing the 40 boundary. Scotland needing 4.4 an over started well but collapsed against Zander and Alfonso slumping to a 37 run defeat. Max Waller got another chance to show what he can do.

Weather forcast: showers, some heavy.
Meanwhile, they are negotiating with Parnell, whose six-week contract as overseas player ends next Wednesday, to return for the remainder of the season after the World 20/20.

Great Captaincy.
Well done Mr Langer.
I've just managed to get the score, which is a really pleasant surprise. Marooned in New Forest with poor phone signal and internet connection, but everything else wonderful.

Let's hope the great man is fit to bowl soon.

What do you bowl?
I had hoped that we'd just decided to be bold and give young Max Waller his head. Certainly hope to see him, first-hand, at Lord's tomorrow.
Overall, I'm absolutely stunned at the turn-around in our one-day form. I did not expect this at all. Hugely commendable.
I think a couple of teams in our group have been handicapped with the odd absence - e.g McLaren from Kent, Kartik from Middx, but our wins have been so comprehensive that we have to have confidence that we can go on from the group and take a real run at going all the way in this thing.
LoL

I'm waiting for the call up now,LoL can open the bowling,I'll be first change.
Great performance today, let's hope it pleases everyone.
Now,that would be something.
Willo's figures are sensational while it's great to see Trego being given a chance to open the bowling.
Also a great chance for young Max Waller; suprised that God thinks it's sad that Banks got the lurgy (unless he's being ironic), young Max deserves his go.
Only downside is the injury to Turner; what is it with these bowlers who can't stay fit? What sport of training regime are they on. Surely Jones must be recalled now..?
Most runs. Marcus Trescothick 396
Highest Ave. Zander de Bruyn 216.00
Most sixes. Peter Trego 9
Most wickets. A Thomas 14 (Trego joint second 13)
You will notice Somerset have two bowlers at the top of the wicket takers.
Can't ask for more than this !
Grizzzly

AG would have picked him ahead of Omari, I believe.
Naturally I retain my traditional posture of neutrality!
Alfonso also did well in the CC last year, too, (esp vs Yorks in both games,) I'm somewhat surprised that we've not seen much of him in the CC this year. And I'd suggest that the bowling 'results,' obtained in the CC so far should mean that we'll see Thomas get a crack soon?
By the time the hit and giggle garbage is in the books, Alfie will certainly have had a ton of bowling to get through.

Does anyone know if one is meant to physically cut-out one's on-line ticket so that one has something resembling a normal ticket, or will it be sufficient to just wave the piece of paper in someone's face?
I suspect that if the home-made ticket has a barcode on it you'll be safe, but if I were you I'd call the SCCC office.
I'm sure Grockle will remember a home game two years ago (I think it was) when the comp was running on a league basis.
It was, possibly, the most frustrating SCCC loss that I can remember. Sussex made a good score, but Banger and Langer set off at a helter-skelter pace and it looked like we would win at a canter. Then Langer played an absolutely ridiculous shot to Mushy's second ball and everything started to go wrong. It still looked okay with Ian and Cameron, but then White pulled a RMJ long-hop to deep backward square, Ian got himself out too and we just collapsed in a heap from what had appeared a very strong position.
Is everyone expecting Willow and Phillips for Turner and Waller as the only two changes?
Is there any chance we might be bold enough to pick Waller instead of Banks as a wild-card selection? I highly doubt it myself but it would, of course, be an enormous boon to the confidence of the young man were we to do that.
Or could we go the other way? I'm not sure I can remember the last time that there was appreciable assistance for a spinner on one of Mr Frost's one-day tracks..... Might Banks be omitted in favour of an extra pace option, or even an extra batsman?
Somerset’s match is on SKY I am so pleased for those who can’t get to the ground.
Watching in a pub is unlikely to be a great option unless there is no sport on the other channels, as few pubs, in my experience, are happy to leave a county cricket match on the screen all day (more's the pity.)
I'm booking the sofa downstairs...
Quote:AGod
Yes, our recent record vs them is not great.
I was reminded of this yesterday when a close friend of mine (from Sussex) said that if he recieved a phone call half way through Saturday afternoon to say that Somerset were charging onto victory (as he did two years ago), then it would follow that Somerset would shortly collapse and Sussex would go to the semi.
Hopefully those that were playing will remember that day and it will help to quash any chance of complacency...
I assume the BBC will be floating in unless there is some Bristolian footy interest in some play off for the South Western Summer Boot Cup or the Landrover Espace Shield or something like that.

guaranteed we wont be allowed to take a drop into the ground, the health and safety aspect wont wash either as they sell cans that could be mis-used the same as those yu could bring in yourself
Is there no regulation on how much can be charged or can they please themselves.

You say that, Bloke, but is it a really a result pitch?
Well, just been down to the ground and stuck my key in the cracks around the crease. I'd say we're looking at a finish by tea in the third quarter. That is on the assumption that Taunton has indeed not killed cricket by then, in which case I'm not sure I want to watch baseball all day tomorrow.
That type of game is the sort of match Scotland can win. I'd like to say the only type, but I don't want to hex us.
I'm a bit fearful of the law of averages, in that all three of our most experienced batsmen have been on great trots and all that.... I'd almost take them failing today to get it out the way ahead of Saturday (on condition that Arul, Craig and James rack them up!!)
Moan over, I shall try to listen discretely at work.
LoL
Sixty-six Seasons a Somerset Supporter
Scotland called correctly and put us in.
Turner also plays.
Willoughby and Phillips the men from Sunday who make way.
Of course, it's possible that Scotland have suddenly contrived to produce a Bunsen Burner, but I would be rather surprised, were that the case.
82 for 3 Kieswetter the last wicket.
Suppiah and de Bruyn are batting.
I'm not sure any sides have found batting easy up there, so I'm not concerned by the score, at present.
As I said at the top, happy for the experienced players to get their 'law of averages,' failure out the way today, rather than it occurring on Saturday.
If he can keep it up, I imagine Arul will get plenty of plaudits from his captain for toughing it out in what, presumably, are not facile batting conditions.

Quote:AGod
Does anyone else wonder whether Waller and Banks may have been included in the same side, chiefly to allow for a direct comparison, with each man bowling on the same pitch versus the same opponent?
I don't.
LoL
Sixty-six Seasons a Somerset Supporter
We've hit an unusually high ratio of 6s to 4s and I wonder if Arul and Banks both took the aerial route out of frustration with the outfield?
Not a great team score, but the main thing that I wanted to see - plenty of time at the crease for Arul occurred and with good results for him.
If Warwickshire win today they go through and if Kent win they will be level on point with Middlesex, but as I was told the other day it is then decided on the results of the two teams against each other, Kent beat Middlesex twice so they will go through.
Edited to correct error.
Sorry I made a mistake they have won one each.
So it will be all about the Run/Rate.
Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 2009:05:20:13:56:06 by Mike BOS.
Kent thrashed Middx.
And..
Middx thrashed Kent.
The head-to-head series is tied, therefore run-rate will be the prevailing decider.
I noticed my mistake almost immediately.
At Taunton nine days ago, Scotland`s South African seamer Jan Stander recorded the worst FPT bowling analysis of the season by the huge margin of 21 runs - one for 106.
Today at Edinburgh, he took 3-45. And his victims? Tresco, Hildreth and Langer.
I wonder whether Jan took more pleasure in the easy three, or the hard-earned one.
However, Stander was, himself, also guilty of at least one dropped catch, I believe.
Had he taken 3 for 106 (with the two catches being held) one might argue that those would be 'better,' figures in the context of the game than 3 for 45 here?
But that's assuming that Scotland find batting very hard, too i.e. that this will be a low-scoring game.

Calling for "Mr. T" means that any one of three makes you look like a genius!

Mr T 10/10 - great innings and mean bowling
Mr T 4/10 - rustiness showed, but a consolation wicket
Mr T 3/10 - out first ball and looser bowling than usual
LoL
Sixty-six Seasons a Somerset Supporter
Particular credit to Craig, Arul, Alfonso and Zander.
Just for turning up and looking good.
It seemed a wicket for extreme patience and selecting the right ball to hit. A lot of batsmen lost patience and got themselves out on both sides. Zander hit a sweet reverse sweep 4 and then tried to repeat the shot the following ball and was rather embarrassed! Langer never looked to be on top but seemed determined not to get out. He did survive a difficult chance to backward of point off a top edge though. His face was a picture as Arul and Omari gave it away.
The outfield was fine, but the pitch was slow, which made piercing the field hard work.
We fielded superbly on the whole, a couple of dodgy moments from the skip and one minor blemish from Omari aside.
Their batters looked more able to strike the ball cleanly, but Alfonso and Zander really strangled them. A number of them got out loosing patience, notably Hamilton, Watts and Watson.
Borgas batted really well, but just ran out of partners in the end (tho the required rate was 10). Stander struck a few good blows, but tried to run a second that Borgas (rightly) refused and failed to get back before the throw.
None of the lower order Scots looked capable of even staying at the wicket and allowing Borgas to have a swish to try to get them closer. A county 9 10 and jack, rather than 3 bunnies might have made it closer.
Always so much better to hear it from somebody who was there.
Did Tractor behave?
I reckon he'll have had his share of Irn Bru today.
Is it really made from girders?
A good win all told.
The cricket was quite good too.

btw, glad to hear he (HM) is still doing well at Lord's! He was my first Somerset Hero!
It's hard to see how the ECB can reject this?
But, I suppose, that would not be fair on the others.
Presumably, we would not be permitted to field a deliberately weakened team for the same reasons?
This is most inconvenient.
They'll just have to accept a mistake was made and get on with it.
But I can see why Middx are thoroughly unhappy.
Once it was announced that 4 of the final 6 overs or so were going to be power-plays (which is what they said on the radio, it became all but inevitable that we would prevail.)
I can't really conceive of how the ECB can refuse Middx a replay?
Mistakes happen.
Stop whinging and get on with things.
If the match has to be replayed it would have to be between now and Saturday (probably on Friday) and it would make no sense for Somerset to risk injuries to their best players. So what would we do? Put out a weakened side and risk censure for that?
I guess the ECB will say it's all too late now.
LoL
Sixty-six Seasons a Somerset Supporter
I'm not even 100% sure if it's the umpires that make those calculations or if some other ECB official is responsible for making it, and then relaying the info to the umpires.
I'm sorry, but I suspect little can be done.
Which power plays are we talking about, bowling power plays or batting power plays?
If I remember correctly Somerset were given four batting power plays overs after they restarted, that is one less than normal.
Or am I getting something wrong?
I think you remember correctly - we were given 4 power play overs after the re-start.
However, some of our correspondents here said - at the time - that they thought we'd already had our batting power-play?
In other words, we might have called for the same power-play, twice.
If they can't get it right between them, I'm afraid it's hard cheese!
At the very worst, if the result is invalid it should be a "no result", one point each; no replays, no forfeits.

No question of that this time, though.
I'd be happy with FE's suggestion of one point each and, if it would take them through, I suspect Middx would concur.
That somebody in officialdom messed up is not our fault.
I really have a problem with whingers.
And this Cordington fella most certainly sounds like one of them.

Did we not, in the style of an MP with a rent bill, ask for clarification on the rules in advance?
Yes, I believe Mr Rose sought clarification beforehand.
But I fail to see how that makes it different to what the MPs have done .... i.e. within the rules, but very, very much against the spirit of things.
It's just that that is one of the handful of issues which can provoke very bi-partisan responses around here.
I look forward to hearing any attempts to justify Mr Rose's conduct that day...
My understanding was that we actually took 3 of the alleged extra batting powerplay overs at the same time as 3 of the Middlesex bowling powerplay overs.
I wish people would try to keep up.
Off to Bonnie Scawtland now.

A washout would also see Middx qualify - Warwickshire would then have 8 points and 3 wins, whereas Middx have 8 points and 4 wins. First tie break is wins (although why a win and a loss should count as better than two washouts is logic that escapes me).
Of course any replay would be without Hughes who is due to fly home tomorrow.

The ECB, however, have rejected the request. HOWEVER, I would like to take up AG's monstrous allegation that Somerset deserved to be kicked out of the B&H 30 years ago!!! I remember it well - we were cheated by the hierarchy at Lords and no mistake.
I've got to rush off to a meeting, and I know I've written about this on Grockles a few times before, so I can't expand now. Suffice to say, IMHO, we checked with Lords that it was within the rules, they said yes, we declared - then got disqualified! I can't see the justification for that, and haven't been persuaded otherwise in the last 30 years.
Must rush now cat firmly settled in pigeon-loft...

And the Commons Fees Office said that MPs' expenses were within the rules, MPs submitted their claims and then...
I take your point, HR - if the Fees Office run a system of expense allowances where you are encouraged to claim up to a certain amount knowing they will let virtually anything through, then the system stinks. That doesn't excuse MPs claiming for moats, chandeliers, changing lightbulbs and so on, but it does encourage it.
Anyhow, Somerset were robbed - I know it in my heart!
I thought something odd at time and commented it on thread of game. I just thought rules were bad not that they got it wrong.
Shame coaching staff or captain didn't spot error at time.
What is definite , for those who were there can verify, those 3 extra power plays were crucial and almost certainly made difference.
A replay not practical in any way.
I feel due to severity of error, result should be null and void and we are definite victims of injustice.

maybe we'll meet again in the 1/4's anyway...
None of us know the extent to which Middlesex officials tried to get this matter corrected on the day itself. Be that as it may, the umpires made the error and Middlesex got the wrong end of it.
However, I cannot see how the ECB could do anything other than respond as they did; they have accepted the error and apologised but stated that matter cannot be revisited.
I fully understand why Vinny Codrington wrote to the ECB and requested that the match be revisited, but I also fully understand why the ECB said "our fault, sorry, but no remedy".
I think Vinny has taken some uncalled for stick on Grockles, btw. There is no doubt in my mind that the Somerset Chief Executive would have written a similar polite letter if the circumstances had been reversed. It's called "doing your job".
There is a lively thread on this subject on MTWD with a simialrly mixed bag of opinion - I have also cross- referenced this Grockles over there:
MTWD Thread on the Replay Question
Anyway, Kent and/or the weather might make the entire point moot on Middlesex's behalf by stumps today!
Best of luck in getting through to the next round Middlesex.

its just hard luck im afraid, no way they can replay it, no way at all."
I would say there is a difference, though, WSM, between a mistake being made in a decision regarding a known law (dodgy LBW decision) and a portion of the game not being played under the correct laws/rules.
Still, seems like the ECB are saying that the two situations are, indeed, analaguous.
Move on.
Or maybe sue the ECB if it all goes wrong against Warwickshire.
That seems to be the modern way.
Had we been allowed to get away with it, it would have set a precedent which would have meant the whole concept of run-rate would have had to be scrapped as a tie-breaker and forced the TCCB to come up with some other tie-breaker. After all, other people would just copy what Brian Rose did.
It would have set a precedent for totally short-changing the cricket-watching public, too. Do you really think it was fair to the fans that turned out? What about away fans - talk about a totally wasted journey.
And it was monstrously against the spirit of the game as it denied Worcs the chance to compete in a manner that would have allowed them to have overhauled us.
Now.. legally speaking, it may have been that the law was on our side. But it's also on the side of all those MPs who had their expenses cleared by the Fees Office. Does not mean it's right and does not mean they should be allowed to get away with it.
If the boot had been on the other foot in this instance, I would have been astonished had any SCCC fan said 'oh, that's fine, nowt wrong with that.'
A bad example, I know!!!!!!!!!
A better example might be one team playing with 12 men for a portion of the game.
Quote:Had we been allowed to get away with it, it would have set a precedent
Not necessarily true, of course.
The change to the Laws (or is it playing conditions?) regarding declarations in limiyed overs matches did not have to be made to act retrospectively.
Perhaps a truly progressive governing body would haveeffectively said "Well done Rosey, you've found a loophole and exploited it........but we're closing it from now on".
Not that I dispute your reading of the ethics of it one little bit.
But I repeat my original point that Udal, a very experienced campaigner, should have been aware that the rules were being infringed, and do not understand why the Middlesex management, if they were aware of the problem at the time, could not send on the Twelfth Man with a message for the captain.

The only way to prove to the South West economic analysts that they've got it wrong at £20 is to not buy the tickets at that price.
Unfortunately for all the complaining they probably haven't got it wrong and the place will fill up and they'll make their money. If not then the semi might be cheaper if we get that far (and it's at Taunton).
Seems it's not only the pitch that's killing cricket

Quote:Grockle

if?
Even their prices for non-members are less than £20.
How much did those magic pendants cost?
And with more seating capacity it is better to fill those seat rather that half empty fill them because of the price of the tickets.
I've always thought that Members should be charged less than non-members.
Somerset are charging premium prices, which I feel is very disappointing in these times of recession, but maybe their judgement will be proved right.
I considered not going to this match, which is something I'd never have done, not so long ago, but I feel not enough is being done for our Members at the expense of excellent facilities for the players.
Lets hope for a full house.
The link to my Photos on Photobucket - [s1152.photobucket.com]Quote:geoff_k
why are their members tickets £7.50 and ours are £20?
Because we're going to WIN
i thought prices for these were set by ECB.
If not then £20 is ridiculous.
I'll be amazed if we have a sell out Saturday based on this.
Surely its better to have 8000 in paying £12, than 4000 paying £20.
The more people, the better the atmosphere, and from a money point of view, more people = more beer/food/shop sales.
Almost hope the crowd is poor so club have a rethink.
We are one of the most expnsive counties for daily ticket prices as it is
It's more than that to see a run of the mill rugby match.
Surely members should at least get in at a reduced rate.
As for your rugby Jim I wouldn't pay a quid for it!
im dubious of their press releases re tivkets as last year all 20-20' were billed as sellouts but ground certainly wasnt full, allocation of members seats is an issue there i know which wont be the case this time
I know that I paid £65 to get into Tats at the Cheltenham festival more than a decade ago.
And it took over an hour just to get a pint in.
As usual we will never know and just have tp put up with it.
No compensation for us Somerset fans who have to pay the £20 if we want to go.
Is quite a difference mind, guess we'll get no explanation as to why we are double the other counties
I feel we are being 'ripped' off and if the policy continues, I may well be happy watching on Sky.
I have made my feelings known. There seem to be very few advantages in being a member. The main advantage for EBC members is being able to book a car park space, but we pay through the nose for the privilege.
The ground is now big enough to enable folks to pay on the day, so unless one is able to go to many matches, it will be cheaper to payg.

Guess what...........................................................................................I gree with SP!
for info, kent did a scorecard for 50p at canterbury.
middlesex did a scorecard for 60p.
why can we not offer such an option instead of £2.50 for all the adverts?
to be fair though for the 4 home games there were 2 scorecards in each so i suppose if you used both it worked out £1.25 per game
A very generous man is LoL.
see the club are making big notice that tickets WILL be available on the gate, a good sign ticket sales arent progressing well enough for them to fear a sell out pre saturday?!?!?!?
I've just compared it to other sporting events.
A full 50 over match can last the whole day, compared to a football match @90 minutes or a rugby match @80minutes.
The fact that those events are considerably more expensive tells me that it's not over-priced.
The fact that other counties chose to sell at a lower price is their prerogative.
I couldn't afford it if it was half the price.
Just my take on it.
Its just hearing other counties are charging less than half that we are doesnt seem right.
We already pay our membership, most have to pay travel and parking costs to the ground each time on top etc.
Lets hopw the match goes the distance and ends with a Somerset victory
If all I had to worry about was forking out £20 for a fantastic day at Taunton I'd be the happiest bunny on the planet.
I know that doesn't make it any more acceptable for some.
We just see things differently.
All this rain talk is getting me worried.
It's a shame I had to pay at all, as a member, but a day watching Somerset at the County Ground for £20 seems a reasonable transaction in the grand scheme of things.
Especially when the Emperor gets a double-hundred etc etc
Either don't talk about it or don't listen to them talk about it.
Then when Trigger gets a Michelle and skittles those scurrilous sharks we'll all be happy.
If the Emperor gets a double-hundred we'll need to bat first of course.
I can't see them scoring a hundred against us.
If £7.50 for a beef roll at Lord's is considered good value then surely £20 to watch our heroes play a very important game of cricket must also fall into the same category?
I'm sorry if I'm being too simplistic.
It must be the lateness of the hour.
Incidentally, for my stupidity in joining the Business club, my ticket costs £30, though presumably I could have paid £20 and not used the 'club'!
All joking aside, if they are p1ssing of loyal fans, then they should be worried. I find it increasing frustrating getting to midweek cricket, parking, traffic, etc, that I need some consideration or I might choose to watch cricket on tv and select the matches I view live.
We all need to evaluate our customer service and keep up with change.
It will be interesting to see how full the ground is, as we used to fill the ground on such occasions. Incidentally, the weather forecast has improved and it should be a decent day.
ps there's no longer any Thatcher's on hand pump, either, for my occasional pint!
It's just as well the team are playing exciting cricket.
While you propose, quite rightly, that Somerset are charging more than other counties, of all the people I know, you are the one who spends more than any other going to the County Ground.
This is not a criticism!

It does make you wonder about Somerset prices.
They may have prioritised trying to get a full house?
If I had Kaneria in my side, I'd be delighted to be drawn at Old Trafford.
The 20/20's being all midweek cause me logistical problems, so I may give some a miss next year.
I joined the business club as it was tax deductible and in theory provided much better viewing, but I spend so much time walking round the ground beinmg sociable, that I'm rarely up there.
I believe that the club will soon suffer, if it keeps milking the members. It's about time we got something back.
Does this mean I am subsidising your tea and occasional biscuit? I hope you are declaring all those refreshments on your tax returns.
LoL
Sixty-six Seasons a Somerset Supporter
I'm going to watch my village team in a mo,it's a lot cheaper although the standard ain't quite the same, but then again a game of cricket is a game of cricket.
"The prices are set by the Chief Executive and Management Committee. Group prices were £20 so this is the level that has been set so far.
The club doesnt get as many big games as hamps and lancs due to ground size so need to make most of them."
Doesnt explain why members couldnt perhaps have been charged at least the normal advance group price of £16???
More people firstly creates a better atmosphere.
Secondly more people = more food sales, more beer sales, more shop sales etc etc.
Cheaper tickets seem to benefit us all to me?!
Only way it will pay for the club is if its a full house at £20 a ticket then they win on ticlet sales and all the rest

And more people likely to come to future matches.
I admit that when I first saw the price I thought it was reasonable, but that was before I saw what other counties were charging. Now I understand why co-contributors feel so strongly about this matter.
Grockle, how about asking mr Gould or whoever to make a statement?
I don't think staying away is the answer though.
The lads need as much support as possible.
If I could make it there I'd pay up just to show the team that we're there giving them that extra man.
I'm still surprised that so many are surprised by things like this.
Learning from history can teach us a lot.
I don't expect any favours from the club and don't get any.
I do however find it's the same in most places,in many walks of life.
People just want what they can get.
It's a business don't ya know?
If they want to cut a few costs I could give them a few ideas regarding cutting match day costs. It sticks out like a sore thumb every match day.
The SCCC need to start basing their management around a client/supporter orientation rather than continuing to exploit the loyalty of fans.
I regret that nothing has changed in the 50+ years that I have supported this Club.
Just stand in line and accept orders.
Stand at ease now!
Although we, I think, have been told otherwise, I continue to fear that all the Ground re-development will soak up any spare cash that we have. The history of major sports is replete with examples of teams that have engaged in major capital works (sometimes meaning actual new stadia) and lived to regret it from a playing point of view.
A good current example of one man who probably regrets major building work is Arsene Wenger, for instance.
The arguments are always made that we have 'to think long-term,' in terms of increased revenue down the road etc, but that road is typically very long indeed and pitted with pot-holes.
(Anyone remember a certain 'Not The Nine O'Clock News' sketch?)
It’s the comparison with other counties that change my opinion on a fare price.
Maybe somebody just admitting they got it wrong and uttering the word "sorry"would suffice.
So,go on lads.
If Mr Broooooooon can do it.
So can you.
I was told yesterday that the cameras were being put in place at Taunton.
The web site is still saying TBC [www.skysports.com]
The EPG on Sky is not saying which match is on.

Love it, instead of why the prices are high, the answer is 'someone else made the decision'. Classic non-answer.
I really do tend to believe that we're charging a high amount because we need to to help off-set all the building costs.
And there we were being told a few years ago that 'the money from sky' was all cricket needed, etc etc.
The two main issues here are:
1). Why is there no discount for members?
2). What incentive, during a spell of inclement weather, is there to pre-purchase?
What's the equivalent of an own goal, in cricket?

It has just come up on SKY's EPG that it is Somerset.
Ouch.
Somerset CCC owe more to Mr Bird, than he owes to them.
Not to many people these days promote for nought.
