Decent Day and a Draw on the cards

The batting continued and the rain stayed away so one thing is that the weather didn't save us. The middle order held firm and we passed the follow on total which should produce a draw from the game if the weather doesn't close it off first!

Short Report...long day for bowlers!

A 99 from captain Mike Burns, scores around 50 from Rob Turner and Keith Parsons and sizable contributions from Blackwell, Bulbeck and Jones made sure that we wouldn't be invited to follow on. The weather was kind and the pitch was kinder and we finished some 54 runs behind the 608 the Brownhats put on in their first visit. They managed to add another 96 to that by the end of the day and will probably want to double that before they ask us back onto the wicket with the bat.

It's all looking like a draw unless something marvellous happens tomorrow morning in terms of wickets tumbling or boundary boards resounding to cricket balls.

Not the result we would have liked but better than the result that looked possible when Surrey had finished and yet another bowler left the field for more than a fortnight.

The question is now...what side are we going to put out on Sunday when our Quarter Final rivals arrive for a bit of a practice? There's not a lot in the locker and an awful lot on the shoulders of the squad who ARENT wounded in some way.

Possible side for the Sunday?  Holloway, Wood, Burns, Bowler, Parsons, Blackwell, Turner, Dutch, Rose, Bulbeck, Jones.  Not a lot of choice really.  Twelth Man?   Can anyone be available?  Ho Hum...
