Jason joined the club as a 15 year old lad in 2000 joining the Stags centre of excellence being run at the time by Neil Richardson. He joined now familiar faces ex-stags Jamie Clarke and Chris Beardsley in that era.

White's first chance came when the now Notts keeper Kevin Pilkington picked up an injury away at Cheltenham in 2002. Since then and now he has always been considered by Stags fans and management as 'reserve' keeper. He almost always played understudy to Pilks and then Pressman later on.

After Pressman left the club White was offered a deal and Shirtliff hinted towards a promising season ahead of him. The Mansfield born lad began to grow in confidence and put a few assured performances in for the yellows and had seemed to put the youthful mistakes of the past behind him in a good spell he had in the 06/07 season soon becoming the main shot stopper at the club, making over 30 appearences.

Again Jason has again found him playing understudy to an older head of Carl Muggleton, whilst learning off the ex-spireite White isn't get much match practice and his confidence must be down on what it was last season. I believe Jason has always had the potential to be a good enough keeper for league two standard as long as his confidence is up but after many years of playing second fiddle it will be interesting to see what future he has with the Stags.
