Oyston Slams Football Racists

Saturday saw Blackpool take on Preston in the West Lancashire derby and whilst it may have lacked the fizz of previous champagne encounters. It will be forever remembered as the game which landed Blackpool in bother over allegations of racist abuse. Now Karl Oyston has spoke on the situation as the club promise to find, ban and prosecute those guilty of racist abuse.
Karl Oyston told the Blackpool Gazette "Racism of any kind is totally unacceptable and we will not put with it at Bloomfield Road."
Blackpool fans were in trouble for racism a few years ago, when Blackpool played Oldham Athletic. After that the club started a huge anti-racism campaign. Speaking on the work to worm out racist abuse in football, the chairman said, "The football industry has worked long and hard to ban this kind of behaviour and I can assure you that we will take a very hard line with anybody found to be making inappropriate comments."
With an FA accessor present at Saturday's game it's more then likely action will be taken against the club. There has been whispers that a fine is likley but they could deduct points if they feel it is necessary.
The game saw two fan arrested for racist abuse, two arrested on drugs related offenses and another two on public order offences. Although Lancashire Police have reported that the game went off with no major problems.
