Once Again it's time to take a look at the previously unfeatured Seasiders news. In our rather John Cravenesque news-round. So buckle up and find out who the Seasiders maybe interested in, how many tickets remain and more. Including Karl Oyston on the appointment of Simon Grayson and Thompson's tip for the future!

Blackpool have been liked to French defender Aurelien Collin, 22. The former trialists has had his contract terminated at a soon to be bust Gretna. However Simon Grayson failed to decide whether he had seen enough of the player to issue him a contract whilst he was on trial in January. However he may decide to take another look at the player or look elsewhere as the end of the season nears.

West Brom are our next opponents and for those wanting to get tickets you best snap them up quick! There was only 500 tickets remaining When the Gazette went to print on Friday, so get to the ticket office ASAP if you intend to go and remember for all the post match fall out. We're Number one!

Meanwhile Kieth Southern has declared himself ready to go after his recent hamstring injury. The former Everton man told the Blackpool Gazette My hamstring is fine so I'm looking forward to the rest of the season now, I feel good now and I have been back in full training this week and I will be pushing for a place in the squad for the West Brom game."

Southern played against Bury Reserves, Wednesday just gone. He scored a goal and did really well as Blackpool won 4-1 as nearly 20 Seasiders watched on. Another player who took part is new signing Joe Martin.

The midfielder, who joined on loan recently from Spurs also did well and also ended up on the score sheet leading to praise from  the Seasiders Reserve team manager Steve Thompson who told the Blackpool Gazette "He's got plenty of energy and an eye for a goal - I think he can be an asset for us," said Thompson. He's got a cultured left foot and he's joined us from a quality club."

He added "I think he can give Simon Grayson something to think about between now and the end of the season" Martin is expected to play some part in Tuesdays game against West Brom. A game Simon Grayson feels the Seasiders can win.

West Brom and Cardiff are in the FA Cup Semi's this weekend but the boss feels both are beatable as the Seasiders prepare to play them in the forthcoming week. He told the Blackpool Gazette "They are both good teams and looked very solid on the night. Both will be very difficult games but we can beat any team in this division."

Finally the appointment of Simon Grayson was not lucky claims chairman Karl Oyston. Instead he says it was a well thought out move by the club.

The chairman told the Blackpool Gazette "Steve McMahon picked Simon Grayson up as a player so in that sense we were lucky to get him as a player because he was a good player. He'd say he still was actually! But after that Simon, of his own decision, started to coach the reserves and took his coaching badges and did very well with that."

He added "So no, it wasn't a case of getting lucky with him as manager. It was a natural progression as far as I was concerned for Simon to move on into the first team set up.
