Paddys Preview! Blackpool vs West Brom

The game put back to Tuesday is never one that is greatly appreciated, but when it comes due to such a fantastic cup run from opponents, sometimes we have to make exceptions. West Brom will make the trip from the midlands to Bloomfield Road, after what is sure to be a tough test in the FA Cup semi-final against Premiership Portsmouth.

Blackpool could welcome Paul Dickov back into the starting eleven, after he played 10 minutes last week in the goalless draw at Crystal Palace, and he is likely to be partnered by Stephen McPhee, who has struck up an instant rapport with the experienced striker. Blackpool are also likely to welcome back Keith Southern, who has said recently that he is confident that the current tally is enough to keep the club in the second tier, but would like more points to make sure.

Likely Blackpool line-up:

Rachubka

Barker© Evatt Gorkss Crainey

Taylor-Fletcher Jorgensen Southern Hoolahan

Dickov McPhee

While West Brom still have a game before the trip to Blackpool, they are likely to be welcoming back Sam Sodje, but most will be throwing everything at the cup semi-final, so expect possible twinges and injusries in that starting eleven, so it may not be the same as the one who visit Bloomfield Road.

Likely West Bromwich Albion line-up:

Kiely

Robinson Moore Hoefkens Sodje

Gera Koren Morrison Brunt

Miller Phillips

We asked West Brom fan Darren for his thoughts ahead of the game:

What is your summary of the season for you so far? Cup run has been a bonus, but League has been disappointing.

What do you think of Blackpool this season? Definitely a surprise.

Are you happy with the way your club is currently? Yes and No. Should have done more in the January sales.

Who are your players to watch on Tuesday? Miller, Bednar and of course the everlasting Super Kev.

Who would you not mind seeing at the Hawthorns out of the Blackpool team? Wes Hoolahan.

Where do you think you will finish this season? Hopefully top two, but as these games fly by its looking more like the play offs again.

Where do you think we will finish this season? 13th?

What do you think the score will be? 2 - 0 Albion.

With what is sure to be one of the toughest tests of the season at Blackpool, the defence will have to be very tight, as West Brom are the top scorers in the English League with nearly 80 goals so far. However, with some players likely to be tired and rested after the cup game, just after what may be a memorable day or a bad day for the Baggies, it could be a good time to play them.

Prediction: Blackpool 1-2 West Bromwich Albion

Sorry to be picky lads, but Sam Sodje plays for Charlton. Not us. He was on loan last year from Reading. Put Robinson in his place and you will be smack on. Oops infact Darren Moore is at Derby County.Just noticed that aswell. Plus we will be looking for our 100th goal of the season tonight as we are on 99. Come on Paddy tut tut.

And the thoughts are not Darren's they are mine. Tony, alias Say Hello Wave Goodbye. Darren is a Wolves fan on our site.

Likely line up,

Kiely
Hoefkens
Clement
Albrechtsen
Robinson
Morrison
Greening
Koren
Gera
Phillips
Bednar

Subs,
Danek
Pele
Brunt
Moore
Miller

Very sorry about that. I should have checked. I just heard the name Sodje when you played Charlton on Sky, and knew he had spent some time with you. Also, got a tad confused with the Moores there, there are so many of them.

Will get it right next year, trusting you don't do up.
