League Cup Draw

Barnsley have drawn Crewe in the opening round of the Capital One Cup. The tie will take place at Oakwell.

The match will be played the week commencing the 11th August with the likely date being Tuesday 12th August.

 

The match sees a return to Oakwell for former Barnsley legend Steve Davis who is now manager at Crewe.

 

Meanwhile, Jim O’Brien is the latest player to decide his future lies away from Oakwell.

 

O’Brien has turned down Barnsley’s offer of a new deal because he wants to find a Championship club.

 

What are the odds on him joining another League One club?

 

What is the problem at Barnsley? Are we paying peanuts or is there something fundamentally wrong at the club?

 

Time will tell but I am now very fearful of the type of season which lies ahead.
