Mellis Leaves

  Barnsley have withdrawn their contract offer to Jacob Mellis following a meeting with the player and his parents.  

Mellis made it clear that he felt he needed a fresh start and the club only want players who are committed to Barnsley so withdrew their offer and in the process forfeited their right to compensation.

 

This decision means that every senior player offered new contracts by the club have decided to move on. Does this say more about the players or club? Time will tell.
