Reds visit Doncaster in South Yorkshire derby

Barnsley will be hoping to end a run of five league games without a win when they make the short trip to the Eco-Power stadium.
The Reds will be hoping to build on a victory against York in the FA Cup and have a positive end to a run of four Yorkshire derbies in a row.
In terms of injury updates, Conor Hourihane said “Phillo won't make the weekend. Mael won't make the weekend.
“Josh is pretty much there. He’s been on the grass.”
Hourihane confirmed that there has been some illness within the squad this week with 3 or 4 players having been off ill. He hoped that those affected would be fine for Saturday's game.
In terms of Doncaster, they sit in 14th place having played 14 games with five wins, three draws and six losses.
Like Barnsley, Rovers started off the season in fine fashion before tailing off in recent weeks.
They are winless in seven league games however did beat Crewe in the FA Cup last weekend.
After relegation to League Two in 2021/22, Rovers won the league in 2024/25 and gained promotion back to the third tier after amassing 84 points.
Patrick Kelly was part of the title-winning Doncaster squad last season playing 30 games.
They are managed by former Hull City and Peterborough United boss Grant McCann.
His son Bayley McCann is a current Barnsley player and was recently recalled from his loan with Peterborough Sports.
Barnsley and Doncaster have met 77 times in competitive fixtures, with the Reds winning 25 and losing 28.
Barnsley last trip to Doncaster was in the EFL Trophy in 2022, with the Reds winning 4-2 which included a brace Portuguese youngster Fábio Jaló.
