Barnsley have announced the signing of winger Tawanda Chirewa who joins on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old began his career at Ipswich Town where he became the club’s second youngest ever debutant at just 16 years and 31 days old.
At Ipswich he also played alongside assistant Head Coach Richard Keogh.
He joined Wolves in 2023, where he has made 10 Premier League appearances since joining alongside FA Cup appearances including a Black Country derby against West Brom.
A right winger but versatile across the forward line, Chirewa has had loan spells at Derby County and Huddersfield Town, gaining experience in the Championship and League One.
Chirewa has also represented Zimbabwe internationally after being called up in March 2024 for the national team.
He made his debut for Zimbabwe on 7 June 2024 in a World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
His first international goal would come in the next game four days later in a 3-1 loss to South Africa.
