Barnsley visit Northampton

The Reds lost away at Luton on Saturday and have won just one in 11 matches. 

Barnsley sit 15th on 56 points but could still finish in the top half of the division. 

As for opponents Northampton, they are guaranteed to finish bottom of League One if they lose tomorrow night. 

The Cobblers were relegated earlier this month and haven’t won in 15 matches in all competitions, losing their last 10. 

They lost 5-1 at already-promoted Cardiff on Saturday. 

Northampton have the joint worst defence in the league with Barnsley, as both sides have conceded 70 goals in 44 games. 

The Cobblers sacked Kevin Nolan in March 2026 and are now managed by Colin Calderwood who has lost all eight of his matches in charge this season.

The two sides drew 2-2 at Oakwell in February, and Barnsley are unbeaten in five against Northampton. 

They have former Reds players Conor McCarthy and Cameron McGeehan. 

Barnsley and Northampton have faced off 29 times, with The Reds winning eight and losing 14.
