Barnsley announce retained list

Barnsley confirmed their retained and released list following the end of the 2025/26 season. 

The Club activated one-year options on the contracts of Mael De Gevigney, Adam Phillips and Jack Shepherd. 

Contract discussions remain ongoing with top-scorer David McGoldrick and defender Eoghan O'Connell. 

Arley Kay, Max Rayner and Robson Woodcock were offered professional terms ahead of next season. 

Andrew Dallas, Marc Roberts, Jon Russell, Tennai Watson and Max Watters all depart Oakwell at the end of their contracts. 

Following the end of their loan spells, Tom Bradshaw, Owen Goodman, Nathanael Ogbeta, Scott Banks and Tawanda Chirewa return to their parent clubs. 

All other senior professionals remain under contract for the 2026/27, in which Barnsley will be led by the returning head coach Daniel Stendel.
