Steven Saunders made his Scotland debut tonight as a sub in Scotland's 3-0 win over the Faroes.

Saunders was only called into the squad yesterday after initially having been picked for the Under 21 friendly tomorrow.

It was a bit of a surprise call up, but the youngster has been a regular in the Well side since last season and has done well but it was probably a surprise call up for most!

He replaced Phil Bardsley of Sunderland with just under 10 minutes left, and becomes the 35th Motherwell player to be picked for Scotland at full level.

While I am delighted for Saunders it does seem a bit strange that his Motherwell team mates Mark Reynolds and Jamie Murphy have not been capped yet!

Let's hope he is not a one cap wonder and goes on to have a successful career at this level, and we can make some money from him when it is time to sell him as an Internationalist!!!
