Stuart McCall's first game as Motherwell boss was a dull 0-0 draw in the Lanarkshire derby at Hamilton
Both sides went into the game on the back of a poor run of results and this showed in the early stages as neither showed any great confidence.
Motherwell did settle and started to play some nice stuff, but mainly in front of the Accies defence and rarely troubled Cerny in the home goal. The only chance that came along was a half hit shot from Blackman which at least forced a save from Cerny.
At the other end the Accies were dangerous on the break and Randolph had to save from an Imrie shot and then a free kick. Then he was relieved to see a header from Paixao loop on to the roof of the net.
The second hald was more of the same with the standard not improving too much with one major chance for both sides. Jamie Murphy saw a shot from an acute angle hit the body of Cerny and somehow loop up onto the cross bar and over for a corner.
At the other end Dougie Imrie beat the offside trap to move clean through on Randolph with only minutes left but he could only slip a shot wide of the far post.
In the end a draw was a fair result more because of neither side not doing enough to win.
