Are Gow and Blackman on their way?

With either their loan or short term contracts coming to an end it looks as though Gow and Blackman are heading out.

Alan Gow’s contract ends next week, and it looks as though he will be heading out and probably to Aberdeen. This seems to be confirmed by the news he will miss the trip to Dundee on Sunday with a slight injury.

Given his recent performances I am not sure this will be a great loss, with his inability to realise that when you have beaten half a team there is a time to pass the ball to a team mate!

Blackman’s loan spell ended after the Accies game on New Year’s Day when he returned to Blackburn pledging he wanted to remain at Fir Park.

Then within days he has also been linked with Aberdeen and his desire to stay at Fir Park seemed to evaporate instantly. While his ten goals have been important to us this season so far, again I am not so sure he will be missed either.

Since scoring a hat trick against St Johnstone in November he has appeared to have shown little enthusiasm in the last four games, which also saw him dropped for the trip to Celtic Park.

While I believe they won’t be missed it does leave the squad a bit on the thin side and the next few weeks will show if new boss Stuart McCall has the contacts we hope he has…..
