How far is McCall spreading the net?

It would appear Stuart McCall is spreading the net across Europe as he looks to improve his squad while the transfer window is open.

The clubs twitter account has stated today that players are arriving from all over Europe as trialists with club employees picking them up from Scotland’s International Airports.

This would tie up with the manager’s comments after yesterday’s game with Inverness when he stated there would be a couple of closed door games arranged for Monday and Tuesday.

He also expressed his frustration at the different rules between Scotland and England when it comes to trial players. It seems we have to sign someone for six months, while in England they can keep them for a month before deciding on which way to go.

Hopefully he will find at least three new players out of this batch of trialists to help replace the players who have left, Blackman, Gow, Fitzpatrick and Reynolds.

This is not to say our current squad has no quality, it is just not deep enough, and with these four out, Saunders injured and Lasley picking up a hamstring injury yesterday we need that depth.
