What are the expectations for the rest of the season?

After an exciting start to the season what can we expect to happen for the rest of the season?

We started the season with an exciting 6 game European run, and then stormed past Brechin and Dundee United and into the Semi Final of the League Cup. We were also third in the table and looking for another trip to Europe.

Then along came November, and we all know what has happened! We beat St. Johnstone 4-0 and things have gone downhill ever since.

Since then we have taken three points from the last 24, changed our manager and lost four first team players!! What can we expect from now until May;

League – we are now heading South at an alarming rate, and I for one am actually looking over my shoulder to the clubs at the bottom. I think we have picked up enough points early on and relegation won’t be a worry. It looks as though we will not be heading for Europe and could be lucky to make the top six at this rate.

League Cup – The current side will have to be on really top form and Rangers having a bad day if we want to make the final. Knowing us if we do make it we will end up against Aberdeen and lose to a Nick Blackman goal!!

Scottish Cup – we have a great chance of progressing far in the main cup competition having seen off Dundee and now being paired with either Stranraer or Stenhousemuir. Once again if we can get bodies in and get past this tie who knows we could be celebrating a successful 20th anniversary of our last Cup win.

I think the key to any “success” for the rest of the season will depend on any players Stuart McCall can bring in before the end of January.

What are the expectations for the rest of the season?
