Would you believe it?
Crags celebrates

Who would have believed we would have made the top six and the Scottish Cup Final during the dark days of January and February.
Back in December when Craig Brown took his bag of silver and headed north to Pittodrie and we stuttered for a few weeks it was hard to believe how the season would end.
Poor Youngy was thrown in charge for the second time and lost three games to Hearts, Rangers and Celtic before Stuart McCall took over. The former Bradford man took over in time for the Ne’erday game with the Accies which turned out to be one of the worst games of football ever and deservedly goalless.
Then we lost Blackman (lucky escape), Gow (another one!!) and Fitzpatrick in January, before Reynolds moving to Sheff Weds. Thankfully McCall brought in Jones, Jeffers (inspired) and Gunning (mad!!).
We then went on a run of seven League games without a win, only brightened by our Cup wins at Dundee and Stranraer. After the 6-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox we slipped to 8th in the League and perilously close to the edge of the relegation scrap.
At that time I was hoping we wouldn’t make the top six, as I feared we would go into this and face five humpings!!
As we went into the Accies game at Fir Park in February, on the back of a win at Aberdeen, there was a fear if we lost we could be well and truly in the relegation mire. Thankfully we won it, and only a week later we were on a high when we beat Celtic, but as usual followed this up with an awful performance at Inverness.
Then a switch seemed to be pressed in the last seven weeks, apart from a wretched second half at Rugby Park, and we have a team that is fighting for each other and digging in to ensure games are not lost.
This has helped ensure a top six slot, with almost a reserve side taking a draw at Tynecastle.
Who knows what this side can come up with in five weeks time if the show the same togetherness and determination to grab the moment and make themselves into Legends, the same as the class of 32, 52 and 91.
