Well end season at Fir Park with a draw

Motherwell and Kilmarnock played out a reasonably entertaining draw at Fir Park tonight.

Well started the game in the best possible fashion when they took the lead after only 8 minutes. Steve Jones cut in off the left wing and his shot from 18 yards took a slight deflection to beat Cammy Bell.

Killie responded in 18 minutes with a Clancy header which was cleared with the combined efforts of Randolph and Hammell, before the keeper pulled off a decent save from Eremenko at his front post.

Seven minutes before the break we had the ball in the net for second time, but Jennings was adjudged to be offside when he headed in a cross from Chris Humphrey, it looked a tight call to me.

Killie then made the better start to the second half, Eremenko sent Dayton clear and his cross was tapped in by Aubameyang from close range.

There was little goal mouth action in the second half, although Randolph did pull off a fine double save from Hay and Silva. At the other end Bell pulled off a fine one handed save from a Hutchinson header.

It was a bit of a damp squib at the end of the game, with the Well fans heading for the exits almost immediately with an eye on the Cup Final rather than the lap of honour at the end of the League season.
