Four more needed for me…

McCall

With Craigan and Hollis signing up in the last two days Stuart McCall now has a core to work with, but I reckon he still needs four more in.

Looking at the squad as it stands today, we have 19 recognised first team players, with Steven Jennings still to decide whether he stays or goes. This would still leave us a decent starting eleven but not a lot of depth to the squad.

I think, at the moment, we could be starting with;

                             Randolph

Saunders    Craigan Hutchinson      Hammell

Humphrey      Lasley     Hateley     Forbes     Murphy

                             Higdon

The bench wouldn’t look too strong with the following sitting there: Hollis, Carswell, Smith, McHugh, Page, Pollock and McKinnon. Not many first team appearances between them….

For me this means we need a minimum of four (plus Jennings probably!); this would include a Centre Half, Central Midfielder, Striker and Full Back.

We have certainly been linked with players in a couple of these positions, with Stephen Hughes and Gavin Gunning being tipped for returns to Fir Park. Up front we have been linked with a return for Chris Porter (unlikely I would think) and a Twitter campaign for Robbie Fowler (even more unlikely).

No doubt the steps to fill the gap are well underway and we will see more action when the Manager returns from his holiday.

Four more needed for me…
