England fast bowler Stuart Broad has declared himself fully fit and raring to go at the West indies, when the test series gets underway on May 17th at Lords. It follows his battle with a calf injury that forced him home early from the tour of Sri Lanka....
Broad took an active part in Nottinghamshire's county championship win at Lancashire this past week, taking 3-67 in the home sides 2nd innings.
It helped the 2010 former champions to an impressive 185 run win, over the reigning holders of the four day game.
Now Broad is raring to spring back into the international fold, now he has proved his fitness again.
"I’ve had absolutely no reaction in terms of my fitness." Broad told the media at the weekend.
"‘I am very glad that the ball started to come out better as the game progressed. After another Championship match against Andrew Strauss and Middlesex next week and some more nets at Lord’s, I’m sure I will be properly match fit and ready for the Test series. I am a bowler who needs overs and, as I started to find my rhythm, I felt fairly happy"
It all starts on Thursday 17th May at Lord's, with three test matches in total against the men from the Caribbean.
