England beat Australia in Warm Up

England have beaten Australia in their opening warm up game ahead of the World T20 in Sri Lanka. Batting first in Colombo, England reached 172 for 6, with Nottinghamshire's Alex Hales scoring 52 from 38 balls......

Australia were then to fall 9 runs short of the victory target, with Mike Hussey impressing with 71.

ICC World Twenty20 warm-up match, Colombo (NCC): England 172-6 (20 overs) beat Australia 163-6 (20 overs) by nine runs

Hales and Luke Wright (35) put on 88 for the second wicket for England, following the dismisall of Craig Kieswetter, with Eoin Morgan also weighing in with a contribution of 30 from just 16 balls.

Australia looked on cause for a victory target, with Shane Watson and Hussey going well, but despite the left hander Mike going well, nobody could stop with him, and England were able to wrap up a morale win ahead of the tournament.
