England in a Spin

England may have qualified for the super eights in the World T20 out in Sri Lanka, but problems against the turning ball, have come back to haunt them, after being skittled for just 80 runs chasing India's 170 from 20 overs.....

To lose by 90 runs, in the dead rubber match, proved to be England's biggest loss in this format of the game, and raised fears over the in-experience against spin bowling, in sub-continent conditions.

The England team face a tour to India for four test matches later in 2012, and fears are that they still can't get to grips when the ball spins in these conditions.

Despite all that though, England are through to the second stage, but that is more down to the minnows being allowed to compete in a three team group, more than a polished performance against India.

Stuart Broad was quite deginified after the 90 run defeat to India, when he said "We just played particularly badly. I've seen the guys play spin extremely well, certainly in training."

"We've had a really bad day but it doesn't affect our destiny." Broad concluded.
