England Fans Enjoy Sun Soaked Wellington

England Cricket Sportnetwork joined up with over 2,000 England Cricket Supporters at the Basin Reserve to enjoy the opening days play as England dominated the start of the second days play with Jonathan Trott and Nick Compton scoring centuries....

Despite a cloudy start to the day, sunshine finally arrived around an hour in, with temperatures topping the 21 degrees forecast.

As in this part of the world, the big hole in the Ozone layer, means that even 20 degrees, means a hot and sunny day, with plenty of sun cream required for the supporters on the grass banks.

We were also met with the price of £4 for a bottle of beer, due in no small part to the poor exchange rate back home, but the sight of many an empty bottle laying on the grass bank at the end of play, meant that everyone had still sunk many of these little beauties.

Despite losing another coin toss, England recovered superbly from losing captain Cook, with a stand over 200 from Compton and Trott.

Admittingly, it was slow going at some stages of the game, some 20 runs came off 16 overs in one spell, but it was always about laying the foundations, and we would certainly have taken two wickets down, come the end of play, had it been offered up front.

There is some poor weather forecast for days four and five, so we hear, which is a bit typical as we were also informed that Wellington hasn't had any rain for 8 weeks, and is supposed to have just 20 days water remaining!

Come on England, and it's back to the grassy banks for us for the remainder of this test match.
