Bopara Back in England Colours

Ravi Bopara has been recalled to the England squad that will take to the field in the ICC Champions trophy during this summer.....

Bopara wins a reprieve after his stop, start international career so far was put into further doubt, when he struggled to win a regular sport in the World Twenty20 out in Sri Lanka.

That followed him asking to be left out of the summer seires with South Africa in 2012, and his future with England looked really bleak.

However, the absence through injury of Kevin Pietersen, looks to have offered Bopara a way back into the fold.

England have also included Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan, who are on their way back to full fitness following injuries which ruled them out of action during the winter.

England Champions Trophy squad: Alastair Cook (capt), James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Steve Finn, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Graeme Swann, James Tredwell, Jonathan Trott, Chris Woakes.

England are in group A for the tournament, and the fixtures for the host nation are :-

Saturday 8th June 2013 England v Australia Edgbaston 10:30

Thursday 13th June 2013 England v Sri Lanka The Oval 13:00

Sunday 16th June 2013 England v New Zealand Cardiff 10:30
