England to Wait on Prior

England will wait until the very last minute before deciding on the fitness of keeper Matt Prior, who has been struggling with a calf injury in the lead up to the opening test in Brisbane.....

After a long work out yesterday, hope is that Prior will be passed fit for the game, with Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow standing by, should the news not be so good.

"We will monitor him. He is a crucial cog in our side and we desperately want him to play," England captain Alastair Cook said "But he can't be risked. Five days is a long time to keep wicket in this heat.

"He has come through all his tests he needed to do so far. He did a tough session yesterday, so how his calf pulls up will be interesting to see." Cook concluded.

The test gets underway at midnight GMT, with coverage on SKY Sports.
