Didnt like him at first, and still think he hoggs the ball a bit and forgets to play simple passes, but the amount of assists he has is very good,

Welcome to the site Robson, fully agree with you and Wasim, with Routledge we have added pace to our team and will more dangerous in the counter attack game especially in the premiership as well as having Guthrie in the middle, we have somebody that can actually pass the ball.

I thought when we went after Williamson that it was a massive mistake, and thought what the hell are club wasting money. He has been great so far, but the premiership will be a test and will be a squad player. But with the injury to Taylor he is another that had kept us on track for the road back.

He's balanced the flanks to the point that our attacks can be generated on either side of the pitch, moved Guthrie to the middle which and has improved our attacking ability. Furthermore, he's provided cover on the Right Flank for Simpson. Opposing sides were able to push our right side harder than the left, because the ball could be picked up at midfield instead of the box.

Ive been so impressed with Williamson who has just got straight on with things but Routledge has really made a big impact for all the points above.

A couple of goals with numerous assists and the best of all for the premiership.... pace.

i think it is a close call between him and williamson.
mike has slotted in excellent with colocini when we lost steven taylor to injury.routledge has stopped us being so predictable.everything use to just go down the same wing with jonas.now we can attack both flanks and routledge offers us pace.like people have said it has given guthrie a chance to move into middle where he has impressed,guthrie was shocking on the wing and dont want to see him there again.he offers alot more than smith or butt.like the midfield of guthrie nolan routledge and jonas.

i like that midfield four as well bully, would hope any signings in that area would be intended to start though,orat the very least push those four to keep playing at their best. there are bound to be injuries, so we certainly need to add at least one central midfielder and a winger/wide midfielder

We could definitely use a left footer. Lovenkrands gives cover for Jonas and played well on the left flank last season, but after his goal scoring form this season, I'd prefer to see him up top as he gives us some much needed pace there. It'd be nice to have another Left Mid so that Jonas can play on the right side occasionally.

That said: In a 4-5-1, Jonas, Guthrie, [new CM], Lovenkrands with Nolan in the hole could be dangerous. Routledge off the bench can come on for Loven, Jonas, or the striker as Jonas can switch flanks and Loven can play up top.

Ideally we would sign a creative midfielder but we know they are going to be hard to find on the money that we have got as well as we need to strengthen in other positions.

But if we did go for the 4-5-1, then maybe we could sign a left winger and then play Jonas in the midfield in the creative role, he likes to run, he is quick, can pass a ball and wins loads of free kicks.

We would then have cover as Jonas or Lovernkrands could to the left or right wing.

You make good points-Routledge's impact has been huge. He's an improvement to the squad in and of himself and he's allowed wor Danny to move the middle of the park where he's been a revelation.

I do hope he works on his finishing in the offseason.

(And Williamson is a close second for me. I'm quite pleased to have been proven wrong about him...)
